A North Vancouver family home wanted to transform an awkward corner of their house into a guest suite featuring a living and sleeping room, a small kitchen, and a bathroom. As the space was half underground, it was vital to use light finishes for brightness. Although the kitchen is quite small, we used European size appliances to utilize space and include all necessary kitchen items. The bathroom features an alcove soaker tub and in-floor heating. An IKEA kitchen cabinet was customized and made into a vanity cabinet with an extra thick Corian countertop for added volume.
